Adopt a furry friend
Now more than ever we need a miracle. I have one to propose.
These are indeed troubled times, and many people are suffering from levels of stress and loneliness that are driving a growing number to substance abuse and even suicide.
Now more than ever, people need the boundless unconditional love of pets.
These little (mostly) furry angels snuggle into our lives and love us to the point of worship. We are God-like in their eyes, and there is something more than a metaphor of truth there.
We can save many lives and create more fun and be full of joy if we go out and adopt a pet right away (or as soon as is possible, given local closures).
We can also come together as a nation and make a miracle come true! If all of the lonely, depressed or stressed-out folks adopt pets right away, we can empty the shelters that kill millions of cats and dogs each year, and then we can focus on catching the strays out there.
Once that is done and they, too, are adopted into loving homes (in which they will become the centerpiece, no doubt), do you realize what we will have done? We will have solved our “unwanted” cat and dog population problem in the United States and ended the immoral slaughter we as taxpayers “support” every year, as if it were necessary!
Make the miracle happen! Adopt a pet now!
Less drugs, more pugs.

Keep parks clean
I want to give thanks to the County of Hawaii for opening our parks.
I know it is a lot of work for the park employees who do such a stellar job of keeping our parks clean and safe. Mahalo.
I also want to mention: Please do not litter!
I walk in Keaukaha five days a week and pick up people’s thoughtless roadside litter. Over the last six weeks, there has been little litter for us to pick up, but just (Thursday) morning with the parks open, the litter had already increased quite a bit.
Please respect our island, and depose of your trash responsibly.
